Broken Hill
Made our way to Broken Hill and stayed at Lakeview Caravan Park. There are 2 parks in Broken Hill and neither one is worth recommending. That night we had very heavy rain and the park had some muddy sandy areas.
Took a drive out to Silverton and spent an enjoyable few hours wandering around the galleries. Lunch was had at the Silverton Café home made soup and sausage rolls.

Dinner at the Palace Hotel
We had dinner out at the Palace Hotel to celebrate Shirley's birthday. A very unusual and interesting venue which began life as coffee palace in the 1860’s, but being Broken Hill it quickly became licensed establishment. It is also the only place in Australia where two up is played on a regular basis. The Palace also featured in the movie 'Priscilla Queen of the Desert'.

Our next stopover was at Copi Hollow at Menindee Lakes and Kinchega National Park. Copi Hollow is a lovely caravan park on the banks of one of the Menindee Lakes complex.
We visited the Kinchega National Park exploring the old woolshed. The original woolshed once had a shearing floor of 61 stands. During its life it saw atotal of 6 million sheep shorn.
Tonight Chris and I (Darryl) will be trying out our first camp oven dinner. We have a leg of lamb to roast with plenty of vegies.
Chris and I were both given new camp ovens by our children. Looking forward to slap up dinner. Hope it all goes to plan.
